KPMG Golf Advisory today announced that there are just a few weeks left for golf courses to submit information for the Golf Benchmark Survey 2008.
The acclaimed report, which has been credited with ‘taking the guesswork out of the golf business’, is set to be published later this year, with participating courses receiving a complimentary printed copy of the final Summary Report.
This year’s Golf Benchmark Survey will focus simply on round and revenue figures and, for the first time, will include performance data of new markets including China.
“We are encouraging as many golf courses as possible to participate in this essential source of golf market intelligence,” said Andrea Sartori, head of KPMG’s specialist Golf Advisory Practice in EMA. “This year’s questionnaire is shorter and easier to complete and, as always, strictly confidential with no references to individual courses.”
The Golf Benchmark Survey (GBS) enables individual courses to compare their own performance to the industry high, average and low benchmarks. Since its launch in 2006, it has become a valuable source of information to golf industry stakeholders, including golf course owners, operators, golf course and real estate developers, as well as suppliers to the golf industry (designers, equipment manufactures, consultants, financial institutions, and professional media representatives).
KPMG targets almost every golf course operator at more than 6,000 courses in the EMA region in order to receive their input for the survey. In 2007, nearly 1,500 golf courses across 48 countries participated in the Golf Benchmark Survey.
