The opening of its eagerly-anticipated second course, La Réserve Golf Links, has catapulted Heritage Golf Club in Mauritius and its wider resorts – Heritage Awali and Heritage Le Telfair – into the world’s top 25 resorts.

In the latest Top 100 World Golf Resorts listing, published by Golf World, the luxury golf and beach resort, crafted along the southern shores of Mauritius, has climbed an emphatic 16 spots to place 25th.

“The opening of La Réserve Golf Links has turned Heritage Resorts, Mauritius, into one of the world’s greatest golf resorts,” said Chris Bertram, Golf World’s Top 100 Resorts editor.

“The addition of a course that is as good as its original, Le Château Golf Course, is a game-changer for the resort in terms of its golf offering. It is a jaw-dropping masterpiece, mixing memorable, dramatic holes with jaw-dropping views.”

With panoramic vistas of the ocean from every hole, the first and only contemporary links in the Indian Ocean offers players pure golfing drama. Co-designed by acclaimed course architect Peter Matkovich alongside Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, it is inspired by the wild open spaces of the great seaside links and plays hand-in-hand with nature, mindful of its location alongside a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

“This accomplishment emphasises Heritage Resorts’ dedication to delivering an unparalleled golfing experience among stunning landscapes and world-class amenities,” commented Jonathan Menteath, Heritage Golf Club General Manager.

“From our Le Château Golf Course, which was voted the Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course for a record ninth time, to our two five-star beach resorts and luxury villa accommodation, not to mention our unique and elegant 19th century mansion and gastronomic restaurant Château de Bel Ombre, curated in the lush, landscaped grounds, Heritage Resorts strives to be one of the world’s most sought-after golf destinations and we believe this recognition is a testament to the team’s hard work in achieving our goal.”

The resort’s accommodation includes Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which offers refined elegance and a variety of sumptuous dining options, Heritage Awali Golf & Spa that provides a luxurious family all-inclusive experience and a collection of private pool villas nestled amongst the estate’s 2,500 hectares of unspoilt countryside.

“As the only 45-hole golf destination in the Indian Ocean we offer golfers, friends and families a rare opportunity to experience world class golf and create memorable moments in one of the most beautiful places on earth,” concluded Jonathan Menteath.

Located on Mauritius’ south-west corner, in the Domaine de Bel Ombre, Heritage Resorts offers a world of experiences, from an abundance of outdoor activities and two serene spas, providing guests the opportunity to relax and restore, to no less than 12 restaurants, with most of the ingredients served hand-picked from the estate.
