Armitage joins Open Golf Club
Open Golf Club, the international club and resort management group, has appointed Paul Armitage as its new chief operating officer.
Armitage joins from Le Golf National in Paris, where he successfully transformed the French national golf centre into a world class golf destination and host venue of the 2018 Ryder Cup.
Building on the legacy of his work in Paris and 30 years’ experience in the French golf industry, Armitage will now turn his attention to Open Golf Club’s 42 venues, focusing on enhancing customer experiences.
Outlining his vision, Paul Armitage said: “Within two years we aim to position Open Golf Club as the leader in France for premium golf experiences and customer service for domestic golfers and incoming tourists.
“We will be creating new business models and revenue streams and helping our outstanding network of venues and their managers succeed in both local and international markets.
“It’s a privilege to work with Open Golf Club and the Boissonnas family who, for more than 40 years, have done so much to develop and elevate golf in France.”
Open Golf Club directly owns 10 golf properties, including Le Touquet Golf Resort, home of the number 1 links in France, as well as managing leading resorts and destinations, including Golf de Seignosse, among the top 10 courses in France.
Laurent Boissonnas, CEO of Open Golf Club, said: “Paul has an exceptional record of success in the golf industry in France and is a proven business leader. His role spearheading the transformation of Le Golf National provided a blueprint for all golf clubs and resorts in France.
“It’s those same exacting management and operational standards, delivering outstanding customer experiences, we aim to deliver across our network of clubs and resorts.
“Paul is a team player and will inspire our venues and managers, while also implementing new processes, technology and sales activities to benefit our venues’ businesses. He is the best person to help us achieve our ambitions and we are delighted to welcome him on board.”
