New images of La Réserve Golf Links at Heritage Golf Club, Mauritius, reveal Indian Ocean’s first and only contemporary links
Spectacular new images of the highly anticipated La Réserve Golf Links at Heritage Golf Club, Mauritius – the first and only contemporary links course in the Indian Ocean – have been released.
Shot by world-renowned golf course photographer Jacob Sjöman, the striking new pictures portray a landscape and layout promising pure golfing drama.
Former Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, who co-designed the course alongside acclaimed architect Peter Matkovich, said: “La Réserve Golf Links is everything I dreamed it would be – a dramatic, challenging golf course in an extraordinary setting overlooking the Indian Ocean.
“The landscape and environment are second to none and we’ve worked so hard to create a course that captures the spirit of links golf, the purest form of golf, while using native grasses and sensitive design to ensure it remains authentic to the land around us.”
Inspired by the wild open spaces of the great seaside links, La Réserve Golf Links’ elevated tees, infinity greens and spectacular panoramic views over Mauritius’ tropical bays and southern shores from every hole promises an exhilarating playing experience.
Jonathan Menteath, General Manager of Heritage Golf Club, said: “Jacob Sjöman has perfectly captured the essence of this remarkable golf course and highlighted precisely why everyone who has had the privilege of a private preview believes it to be among the best new golf courses in the world.
“The feedback from the DP World Tour and players who have seen the course, including our resident tournament professional Marcel Siem, has been phenomenal. We’re very excited to be opening the course in December and bringing top flight professionals from the DP World Tour to La Réserve Golf Links for the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at the end of the year.”
Heritage Golf Club, Mauritius, is one of the world’s most sought-after golf destinations. Le Château Golf Course has been regularly voted the Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course and, combined with the addition of the new La Réserve Golf Links and an existing 9-hole academy course, it will become the only 45-hole golf destination in the Indian Ocean.
Nestled within the 2,500-hectare Bel Ombre estate, two five-star luxury beach resorts, including Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort, welcome golf travellers and connoisseurs.
Guests also have the option of luxury villa accommodation or, for the ultimate experience, a private suite within Le Château, the 19th century plantation house overlooking the golf course.
La Réserve Golf Links, reserved for members and Heritage Resorts residents only, will open in December 2023.
